Fall High School Senior Pictures

Fall is my favorite time of year to shoot high school senior portrait sessions! The leaves turning beautiful colors and fall foliage make the countryside a perfect backdrop for senior pictures. Recently I shot a senior session with DJ, a senior at Greensburg-Salem High School in Greensburg, PA. It was important to me to capture this high school senior in a true environment where his personality and character were present. While planning DJ's photo shoot with his family, I learned that he is an Eagle Scout and lover of the outdoors with a passion for tinkering with his vintage truck and souped up tracker (that more reflects something that belongs on a dirt race track.) Oh, I can't forget Jasper...the family dog. He's completely cool being DJ's

tag-a-long!

We shot this session late afternoon on the family property, not long before golden hour and there were plenty of great spots to carve out the perfect image. If I've learned anything about portrait photography, it's that you don't need the perfect location to create amazing dramatic portraits. Sometimes all you need is a tree or wood pile and a little bit of off camera flash and let creativity flow. I'd love to hear from you...what are some of your favorite locations to shoot senior pictures in your area?
